After-School & Summer Camp Teacher

About the Job:

Discovery Kids is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible After-School & Summer Camp Teacher to join our team! This role involves leading engaging activities, ensuring children's safety, and assisting with transportation to and from schools, field trips, and other approved activities. Job Responsibilities

Transportation Duties:

• Safely transport children using Discovery Kids vans for school pickups, field trips, and other approved outings.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and report any maintenance needs.
• Follow all state and local traffic laws and adhere to childcare transportation safety regulations.

Classroom & Program Support:

• Supervise and engage children in interactive, age-appropriate activities during after-school and summer camp programs.
• Assist with homework help, games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Support behavior management strategies and maintain group control.
• Communicate effectively with parents and team members.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous experience working with children in a childcare, camp, or educational setting (preferred).

Certifications & Licenses:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Food handler certification (or willingness to obtain).

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old to meet driving requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and participate in active play.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, including required annual training hours per Utah state regulations.
