California Lutheran welcomes applicants to our adjunct hiring pool in the area of Organic Chemistry, where we have a need for a lecturer for Organic I in the Fall and Organic II in the Spring of 2025-2026, with the possibility of future TT conversion. The ideal candidate has experience teaching small course sizes (20-30 students max per class) and a diverse student population as we are a Hispanic Serving Institution. The Chemistry Department has beautiful research and teaching labs for a candidate interested in future TT work. Please contact me with questions!
Responsibilities
Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes to maximize student learning in alignment with department, and university mission/goals; implement the student performance objectives as listed on the official course outline of record.
Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum, and student learning outcomes; prepare and submit data and reports related to course and student progress in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Possession of a master’s degree or higher in Chemistry or related discipline.
Exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of students with disabilities.
Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process to enhance teaching and the educational experience
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using tact, patience, and courtesy
