Commissioning Site Technician, Electrical (CMG-CST-ELE)
Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Technician to support commissioning activities for offshore assets, including the Offshore Substation (OSS), OEC/IAC Cables, Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), and Transition Pieces (TP). This role reports functionally to the Commissioning Site Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and perform electrical commissioning activities at the work location.
- Ensure compliance with HSE programs, project requirements, and contract agreements for all commissioning teams.
- Oversee electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, including Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and SIMOPS.
- Serve as HV Electrical Authority, planning and authorizing electrical work.
- Manage and authorize energization activities for high- and low-voltage (HV/LV) equipment.
- Oversee coordination and authorization of work activities within an energized perimeter.
- Participate in daily coordination meetings with contractors on commissioning activities.
- Provide technical test status updates and schedule inputs to managers and schedulers.
- Review and support deliverable documentation, including reports, plans, and As-Built documentation.
- Execute and coordinate Owner LOTO isolations and maintain necessary documentation.
- Monitor network systems, prioritize alarms, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Conduct SLD (Single Line Diagram) walks, breaker line-ups, isolations, and system validations before in-service energizations.
- Act as Owner Representative to witness, inspect, audit, walkdown, and accept work.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician/Commissioning Site Technician, with a strong preference for experience in Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) projects.
- Proven experience working on major capital projects ($100M+) in the offshore wind industry.
- Expertise in HV/LV electrical commissioning and working within energized environments.
Education
- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
