Concrete Truck CDL B Driver

A very stable, growth-oriented, customer-focused leading concrete supplier is in need of a concrete (ready-mix) CDL B driver. This position ensures the safe and timely delivery of concrete to the customer at the proper slump and to the proper job site.

As directed and guided by the Management. The responsibilities of the position include deliveries of concrete to and from yards to customers. If you have at least Two (2) years of experience driving a concrete truck and are twenty-five (25) years of age you may qualify for this position. Drivers must be able to determine loads to maintain safe and timely deliveries. 

Responsibilities:

• Maintains appearance of truck, proper air pressure in tires, proper fluid levels, oil, hydraulic, coolant and fuel; performs minor repairs to truck as needed
• Maintains load in transit to job; adds fiber reinforcement to load as directed; inspects load during wash down, reports any problems; completes washout procedures both during and at end-of-day; cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck; may spray surfaces of truck with protective compound to prevent adhering of concrete
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safe operation of truck and mixer
• Maintain logbooks, truck reports, pre-trip/post-trip reports, vehicle condition reports and other required paperwork
• Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental and DOT requirements are always followed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Must be Twenty-Five years of age required
• Two (2) years with a CDL B license and concrete truck driving experience
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Spanish is a plus
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
• Excellent driving skills
• Graduation certificate from trucking school is preferred
• Familiarity with GPS systems, CB radios, and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technology
• Understanding of all relevant truck driving laws and regulations
• Clean driving record
• Concrete knowledge and experience preferred
