The Acute Dialysis Technician plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality hemodialysis care under the supervision of a licensed Registered Dialysis Nurse. This position involves initiating, monitoring, and concluding treatments in an acute care environment while adhering to established guidelines and regulations.

Pay: $24 - $30, DOE

Shift: Starts 7:30/8:00 AM, no predefined shift - depends on census

Responsibilities:

  • Administer safe and effective hemodialysis treatments in partnership with nursing staff.
  • Prepare and maintain dialysis machines to ensure they are properly functioning and ready for patient use.
  • Monitor and accurately document patient vital signs and treatment parameters.
  • Administer Heparin as prescribed by nephrologists under the guidance of a nurse.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas in line with sanitation standards.
  • Communicate clearly with nursing staff regarding patient conditions and any concerns that arise.
  • Respond to emergencies and make necessary adjustments to treatment protocols to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Dialysis Training program and CCHT Certification.
  • At least one year of experience as a dialysis technician.
  • Strong assessment abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Must successfully pass Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a hiring requirement.
