Job Description

Benhaven is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals in our Residential Services program. The Direct Support Professional will work with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting to provide assistance with daily living activities and support to help them live fulfilling lives.

Johnson – North Haven

Position #1: Full-Time (32 hours): Monday 7:00a-9:30a and 3:00p-9:00p; Tuesday 7:00a-9:30a; Wednesday 2:00p-9:00p; Saturday 3:00p-9:00p & Sunday 3:00p-9:00p

Position #2: Full-Time (35 hours): Wednesday 7:00a-9:30a and 9:00p-9:30a; Thursday 9p-9:30am; Friday 7a-9:30a and 3p-9p

Position #3: Part-Time (11 hours): Thursday 7a-9:30a and 3p-9p, Friday 7a-9:30a

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores
• Implement individualized support plans and goals under the direction of the Residential Services Coordinator
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
• Encourage individuals to participate in social, recreational, and community activities
• Document daily progress and any incidents or concerns in individual files
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff members
• Attend trainings and meetings as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
• Ability to pass a criminal background check 
• Valid CT driver's license 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
