The Government Relations function at Honeywell is responsible for advising and advocating for legislative and regulatory policies that support Honeywell's business objectives, providing sales support for major contract wins with government customers and state-owned enterprises, and enabling relevant tax, grant, and incentive benefits that lower costs.

Success within the Government Relations function is measured by priority Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) developed each year in coordination with our Strategic Business Units, High Growth Region leadership, and Honeywell's CEO. These KPIs are updated quarterly, and results are reported to Honeywell's senior leadership.

The Director, GR, will work directly with the Building Automation (BA) America's Leadership to implement the BA growth strategy in the US and Canada.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director of Government Relations will drive adoption of legislation that supports Honeywell's products. Responsibilities include:

  1. Create and implement the Government Relations strategy for the Americas region in support of BA's NA growth strategy.
  2. Build a network with governments in US states and Canadian provinces and at the national level, including developing and implementing a stakeholder engagement plan.
  3. Assess policy initiatives and funding opportunities that could grow BA over STRAP in the region to determine proactive engagement needs, and develop advocacy strategies accordingly.
  4. Partner with businesses to develop government relations strategies related to specific product initiatives and business imperatives, focusing on identifying funding sources to support growth.
  5. Serve as a subject matter expert on legislation and its impact on Honeywell and its products.
  6. Collaborate with attorneys, business leaders, customers, and government relations team members to develop creative solutions that incorporate government relations into business problem solving.
  7. Manage relationships with consulting firms and associations.
  8. Develop and execute a strategic engagement plan for Honeywell GR, business, and functional leaders in the region to positively impact business priorities.
  9. Review, develop, and implement KPIs for the region in collaboration with GR leadership.
  10. Advocate for the adoption of government policies, including legislation and regulations, to drive sales and avoid costs.
  11. Build relationships with government customers to foster business growth.
  12. Enhance Honeywell's profile in the region, positioning the company as a leader in Building Automation to support growth and customer outcomes.
  13. Develop a multi-state business development program leveraging existing and new political consultants to support BA verticals.

The annual base salary range for this position is $206K - $257.5K. This range is a general guideline, and actual offers will consider factors such as responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
