Job Description

We are seeking a Director, Government Relations to develop and manage a comprehensive state and local government affairs campaign for Honeywell and Advanced Materials.

This position will be based in Washington, DC at Honeywell's Global Government Relations headquarters and operate on a hybrid work schedule. This role will include frequent travel (up to 50%) within the supporting region and other key State Capitals, as needed.

The Director of State and Local Government Relations will drive the adoption of legislation that supports Honeywell's products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multi-state legislative campaigns
  • Coordinate a cross-functional team spanning legal, commercial, communications, regulatory, R&D, product stewardship, and sales functions, as well as outside public affairs consultants
  • Represent the company before various administrative, regulatory, legislative, and executive levels of state government, and in some instances, local jurisdictions
  • Identify, analyze, and report to the company on business, legislative, and regulatory issues that could impact the business; recommend and manage courses of action
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulators, elected officials, civil servants, and other key stakeholders
  • Develop and collaborate on high-quality written recommendations, briefings, publications, presentations, and other collateral to communicate complex messages clearly to government stakeholders
  • Coordinate strategy with consultants and trade association representatives to ensure active engagement aligned with Honeywell's business strategies
  • Organize and facilitate communication with Honeywell senior leadership, including meetings, briefings, and campaign reviews
  • Participate in, serve, and assume leadership positions in industry-related associations, steering committees, and networking organizations to protect and promote company interests

The annual base salary range for this position is $206K - $257.5K. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's experience, education, skills, and market considerations.

In October 2024, Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. This role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, is expected to be part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.

This position is intended to be transferred to the new, independent company, Solstice Advanced Materials, when the separation occurs, expected in late 2025 or early 2026.
