QuestSpecialty, a leading manufacturer of quality specialty maintenance chemicals, located in Brenham, Texas, is hiring – EH&S Regulatory Specialist (Environmental Health & Safety) .

This is an entry level or 1-2 year career opportunity degreed professional focused on REGULATORY compliance , not management level or safety. This key player in our Regulatory Department will support all aspects of regulatory compliance with OSHA, compliance with EPA, FDA, State, and local government regulations. This position would be a great fit for recent college grad with bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or biochemistry - degree required for consideration - will also consider degreed candidates with 1-3 years experience in a similar role.

EH&S Regulatory Specialist

Position Description

Reporting to the Regulatory Compliance Manager, the EH&S Regulatory Specialist will Support all aspects of regulatory compliance with OSHA, compliance with EPA, FDA, State and local governmental regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support compliance with OSHA safety requirements, hazard communications, and GHS SDS preparation.
  • Support the maintenance of raw material SDS sheets including comparisons and reviews, and supplier outreach to support regulatory compliance. Notify customers as needed of SDS changes.
  • Support the monitoring of compliance with all QuestSpecialty safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the outreach to the Regulatory community as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory programs.
  • Assist as needed with customer requests for compliance support.
  • Assist as needed with product label compliance for OSHA GHS and/or CPSC labeling.
  • Assist with transport related regulatory compliance such as USDOT regulations, USMCA Certificate of Origins product/Tariff code activities.
  • Assist with annual training requirements for all employees as it relates to regulatory program compliance. Assist the coordination of training with appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with Federal and State regulatory compliance such as EPA RMP, TCEQ WRPA, RCRA, EPA and State Pesticides, EPA TRI, EPA SPPCC, TCEQ Storm Water programs, State and Federal VOC compliance, California Proposition 65 compliance, California RTK compliance.
  • Assist with SOP’s as needed to maintain regulatory program compliance.
  • Work with internal colleagues such as Purchasing, Operations, QC, Safety, Customer Service to support regulatory compliance related activities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science discipline, Chemistry, preferred
  • 0-3 years experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with experience operating with an ERP
