Job Description - Emergency Management Officer (24000CXX) A Brief Overview Coordinate Emergency Preparedness Program including the Emergency Operations Manual, training, and exercises. What You Will Do Maintain and continually update the Emergency Operations Plan (25%) Plan, execute, and evaluate disaster drills &/or events to improve hospital readiness (30%) Represent hospital at regional coalition meetings and regional exercises (10%). Manage grant funding opportunities and maintain grant funded inventory (10%). Document after action reviews and track compliance with improvement plans (10%). Maintain inventory of all disaster related equipment and PPE (5%). Prepare and execute training in hospital incident command and specialized response teams such as the HERT Team (5%). Respond and support emergency/incidents as they occur (5%). Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management (Required) or 3-5 years additional fire department experience accepted in lieu of degree (Required) Work Experience 3+ years experience in Emergency management field (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Well versed in OSHA, JCAHO, NFPA, fire and building codes and their interpretations/applications (Required proficiency). Able to develop and conduct education programs (Required proficiency). Working knowledge of hazardous materials protocols/procedures and bioterrorism/disaster preparedness (Required proficiency). Personal computers and database program knowledge (Required proficiency). Basic knowledge of FEMA Incident Command System (Required proficiency). Detailed knowledge of all levels of incident command system (Required proficiency).
