Job Description

The Axel Group is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our client’s team out of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. This reputable environmental consulting firm helps developers, attorneys, and lenders manage environmental challenges with confidence. From environmental permitting to brownfield redevelopment and site remediation, this firm prioritizes communication, schedule alignment, and full transparency at every stage.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of experience and is skilled in writing Phase II’s.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to work outdoors and oversee subcontractors in all weather conditions
  • Must demonstrate the ability to conduct fieldwork including site inspections, soil and groundwater sampling, geophysical oversight, monitoring well installations, and other environmental remediation and monitoring fieldwork activities
  • Must demonstrate an ability to communicate with supervisors and project managers from the field and possess the ability to make informed decisions
  • Technical writing/grammar skills are necessary
  • Prior experience with conducting Phase I and Phase II ESA’s is required
  • Prior experience conducting ACMs, and Indoor Air Sampling a plus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in geology, environmental science, or related scientific discipline
  • 3-10 years of technical experience in the environmental consulting/engineering industry
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate with clients and other staff, and prepare technical field notes and reports
  • Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and possess prioritization skills.
  • Attention to detail, quality of work, and the ability to take initiative and make technical decisions is a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Initial 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER and/or 8 Hour Refresher is a plus
