About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead a new initiative focused on critical, inclusive discourse. This role is pivotal in upholding the values of the initiative, which are deeply rooted in the mission of the institution to foster a civic culture that sustains liberal democracy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and oversight of all initiative programs, creating and sustaining a vibrant community of practice, and ensuring the effective coordination, execution, and assessment of activities. Key responsibilities include designing and amplifying constructive discourse skill-building programs, developing strategic partnerships, and leading the initiative's core programming. The Executive Director will also be involved in strategic planning, representing the initiative to the broader community, and will work closely with faculty and staff to advance the institution's leadership in this space. Candidates for the Executive Director position should have an advanced degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for those with a background in civil dialogue, civic education, and democracy. The role requires advanced leadership, planning, and management skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate a high level of diplomacy and political acumen. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in program development, and financial management, and the ability to cultivate strong collaborative relationships. Responsibilities also include teaching or co-teaching, overseeing course administration, and mentoring program staff. The position demands a commitment to the values of the initiative and the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, both within the institution and beyond.
