What you will be doing in the role of a Financial Analyst Serves as a financial analyst contributing to a cross-functional Komen financial analysis and reporting team. Consults with and supports staff to maintain proper financial data and information. Manages financial matters including follow-up and proactive communication for assigned organizational areas. Performs duties including, but not limited to, ensuring that financial activities comply with GAAP and IRS guidelines, collaborating with the team to develop and implement organizational support plans, reviewing and reconciling financial information, creating training and communication initiatives for development teams, and providing high-level strategic analysis. Assists with reviews of Financial Analyst I work-related documents and additional review as needed. Responsibilities Serve as the financial point of contact and consultant for assigned organizational areas. Perform thorough analysis of assigned organizational financials on a monthly basis and during year-end, including preparation and review of monthly variance reports, financial statements, and Accounts Receivable Aging; review of financial-related tasks including Restricted Revenues and Event reconciliations to ensure all financial activity is properly accounted for and corrected as needed. Ensure that accounting records adhere to GAAP and IRS requirements and stay within Komen guidelines. Collaborate as a core member of a cross-functional team to develop and prepare an annual budget and quarterly forecasts tailored to assigned organizational areas. Consult with assigned organizational personnel in development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly analysis of budget/forecast variances and problem resolutions in moderately challenging situations. Suggest ideas for continuous improvement and pursue continuous professional development via training and industry updates. Prepare and analyze audit and tax schedules as needed in support of internal/external audits and tax return preparation. Assist with review of Finance Analyst I work including sponsorship reconciliations, monthly financial analysis, and budget/forecasting preparation, and additional review as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Will Bring To The Table (Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent with 3-5 years of direct experience in a not-for-profit environment. Knowledge of MS Office products, including advanced Excel, and Financial Reporting/ERP software. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong analytical skills with ability to identify, analyze, and determine root causes of problems and implications of financial and business activities in moderately complex distributed organizations; applies effective problem-solving processes. Effective interpersonal and inter-group behaviors to collaborate in teams; ability to influence, educate, and motivate a diverse group. Strong written and verbal communications with polished presentation skills. Takes personal responsibility for outcomes. Nice to Have Technical skills and business acumen. Financial analysis experience in moderately complex organizations or growth environments. Customer service focus to assist with problem resolution. Approximate salary range: $56,000 to $75,000 per year; exact compensation based on factors including labor market, job level, internal equity and location.
