Job Title: Grant Writer

Organization: The Hernandez Foundation for Education, Lifecraft & Mentorship

Location: Remote (based in Orange County, CA preferred)

Type: Volunteer or Contract Position

About the Role

The Grant Writer will identify, research, and write grant proposals to secure funding that supports the Foundation’s mission of empowering youth through education, mentorship, and career development programs. This role is key to helping the Foundation expand its reach and impact across Southern California and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Research grant opportunities from government, corporate, and private foundations.
  • Write compelling, well-structured proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents.
  • Track submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding outcomes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align funding requests with program goals.
  • Maintain organized records of all grant-related communications and applications.
Qualifications
  • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Prior grant writing experience preferred (nonprofit or education-related a plus).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Passion for empowering women and improving educational access.
