WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Our organization is growing and we are looking for a strong leader to join our Human Resources team. The position is an HR Manager based out of our Baltimore, MD Processing Center. They will support employees at our Baltimore Processing Center as well as the greater HR Team strategically, administratively, with employee relations, recruiting, and enforcing company policies.
The right person would be well-rounded in all HR functions and enjoy being the sole HR contact on-site. We are fast-paced, our products are in demand, and we are a diverse workforce.
This HR Generalist position requires light travel in the first month for training. If you have at least 3-5 years of experience in managing employee relations and large-scale recruiting (preferably in a large-scale warehouse or manufacturing environment), we would love to hear from you!
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Acts as liaison between employee and management to answer questions regarding policies, practices & regulations
- Handling difficult or complex employee relations issues and in resolving complaints or disputes
- Manage recruiting; creating ads, screening candidates, conducting interviews, onboarding new hires
- Providing technical guidance and direction to staff on the operation and maintenance of the HRIS systems including training on how to operate and optimize work in the system
- Preparing, maintaining and updating employee data into the HRIS system
- Processing and maintaining periodic reports of employee record data
- Working knowledge of labor and employment laws in multiple states
- Responsible for document control & attendance management
- Maintaining records of site-specific training records and employee development
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verification
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, termination, and investigations
- Provide guidance to Operations for Workers Comp claims
- Process all staff changes
- Perform other HR responsibilities as assigned
EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED :
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- Three to five (3-5) years of direct employee relations experience
- Three to five (3-5) years of recruiting experience
- Three years of experience operating HRIS software (Paycom experience preferred)
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic communication skills, presentation skills and adaptability
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on Excel
- Able to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential issues
- HR experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred
- Fluency in Spanish a plus
