Job Description

Overview The Human Resources Assistant performs administrative and clerical functions for the Human Resources Department, including greeting visitors, answering, screening, and directing phone calls to the appropriate individuals, ordering supplies, routine correspondence, filing, sorting, and distributing mail, and other clerical duties. Responsibilities Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • First line HR contact. Answers, screens, and routes visitors, telephone calls, and mail appropriately and efficiently. Handles sensitive or confidential issues appropriately. Provides excellent customer service.
  • Operates and maintains general office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, badge machines, etc.
  • Maintains department logs, orders and manages supplies, schedules meetings, and communicates effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Assists associates and applicants with inquiries, referring to department staff as needed.
  • Maintains intake tracking logs for documents submitted to Human Resources.
  • Distributes documents, updates statuses, inputs evaluations and licenses into HRIS, and processes verification requests.
  • Issues badges, submits requests for payroll changes, and assists with outgoing mail.
  • Distributes paychecks, assists with printing PCNs, tracks evaluations, and processes subpoenas.
  • Posts weekly job postings, manages employment file records, and conducts new hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Handles employee inquiries regarding benefits, coordinates open enrollment, and tracks benefits enrollments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications Education: High School Graduate or equivalent; college preferred. Experience: Two years in a similar role, preferably in healthcare or human resources.
