About the Position
Hirsh Law Group is seeking a full-time senior immigration paralegal with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in family-based immigration, humanitarian-based immigration, and removal proceedings to work closely with the supervising attorney in launching the firm's immigration division. Hirsh Law Group’s immigration division is a start-up within an established criminal law firm.
To be considered, the candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish. The candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Familiarity with Clio is preferred but not required. This position is ideal for a proactive and motivated professional, who thrives in a high-energy, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate can work with minimal supervision and exercise exceptional time management and organizational skills. They equally have a strong desire to learn and contribute to the expansion of the firm’s capacity.
Duties include the following:
Open/close cases in Clio
Intake process
Work on, edit, and finalize filings submitted to USCIS and EOIR
Schedule case deadlines and maintain case calendars
Follow up with clients and the attorney to ensure timely submission of all filings
Organize case audits
Provide additional support to the attorney as necessary
Qualifications
Candidates must be fluent in English and Spanish
Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Organizational and time management skills
Paralegal education or experience
Strong attention to detail
Effective writing skills
Assertive communication skills
Strong understanding of legal concepts and issues in U.S. immigration law
Familiarity with the following forms and processes: EOIR-42A, EOIR-42B, BIA appeals, I-589, I-130, Family-Based Adjustment of Status, I-765, VAWA, U-visa, DACA, N-400, etc.
