JOB TITLE
• Inorganic Chemistry Technologist
JOB SUMMARY
• Perform work in a collaborative environment involving synthesis of new materials
• Run experiments following procedures and collecting analytical data
• Operate batch autoclaves and/or high-throughput equipment for olefin polymerizations
• The open position is located at the Baytown Technology and Engineering Complex and is based on an 8 hour work day
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
• Use and maintain a dry box for catalyst preparation
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Interface with Ph.D. Chemists daily
• Calculates, analyzes, and interprets data, properly document results
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• A Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline and relevant work experience
• Capable of safe, reliable, and independent laboratory work given framing of problem and regular direction
• Experience with high throughput equipment and software a plus
• Experience using a drybox or Schlenk techniques
• Strong problem solving skills
• Capable of lifting 10 pounds while working in a drybox
• Ability to learn new techniques as needed
• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions
• Concern for accuracy and precision
• Ability to work in a team environment
