Lead Product Designer Mobile Systems (Slack) We are hiring a Lead Product Designer Mobile Systems to drive the evolution of Slack's mobile design systems across iOS, Android, and iPadOS. This role is critical to bridging the gap between Slack's desktop?first legacy and our mobile?first future, ensuring that the design systems support the entire organization's transition to Slack?first development. Designers serve a vital role: from establishing foundational systems that enable consistent experiences to the craft and finish of every component across platforms. What Youll Be Doing Own and maintain mobile design systems libraries across iOS/iPad and Android platforms, ensuring they stay current with the latest platform standards (iOS 26 Liquid Glass, Material 3 expressive, etc). Build solutions for cross?platform efficiency by reworking components, developing automated tools to adapt between platforms, implementing Figma Modes, and defining component variant strategies. Collaborate with cross?functional partners across product and infrastructure teams to develop operational and procedural norms that ensure consistency between design specifications and engineering implementation. Create comprehensive mobile design documentation covering design principles and provide frameworks for future mobile information?architecture decisions, the component library, platform?specific norms, and A11Y guidelines. Champion accessibility standards across mobile platforms, working closely with the accessibility team to ensure WCAG compliance and platform?specific assistive?technology support. Develop resources such as trainings and enablement materials to support Slack and Salesforce designers in Slack?first development. Own or operate programming such as office hours, systems?design reviews, mobile?specific design reviews, and hands?on learning opportunities with our design team. Evolve and maintain design templates and libraries for all of Slacks key mobile experiences and interactions. What You Should Have 7+ years of experience in mobile?focused product design with significant design?systems experience, preferably in a lead or senior individual?contributor role. An outstanding portfolio showcasing mobile design?systems work, cross?platform design solutions, and examples of scaling design operations. Proven track record building and maintaining design systems used by multiple teams, with examples of successful design?engineering collaboration. Deep understanding of iOS and Android design guidelines with experience adapting to platform updates and new device form factors (foldables, tablets). Advanced Figma skills including component variants, design tokens, variables, and library management at scale. Experience with design?to?development handoff for mobile platforms, understanding the technical constraints and opportunities unique to each platform. Knowledge of accessibility standards for mobile platforms, testing technical implementation in products across platforms, and experience implementing inclusive design practices. Demonstrated ability to lead without authority, influencing design quality across multiple teams, cross?functional stakeholders, and projects simultaneously. Strong communication and advocacy skills with experience running design reviews, critique sessions, and educational programs.
