Job Description The Library Manager performs difficult and professional administrative work managing the Recreation Services Library section. The position is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of the library. Responsibilities include overseeing library operations, services, staff, budgeting, and programming to ensure the library effectively meets the needs of the community. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with strong management skills, a passion for library services, and the ability to advocate for the library's role within the community. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and regulations affecting library operations. Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of library policies and procedures. Ensure that the library’s collections remain relevant and accessible, guiding the acquisitions and weeding processes. Implement and oversee library programs, events and services, ensuring they meet the needs of the community. Stay up-to-date on trends and best practices in library science and technology, incorporating them into library services. Develop and maintain relationships with funding bodies, including securing grants and other funding opportunities. Oversee marketing and communication strategies to promote library programs and resources. Work collaboratively with local schools, businesses, and organizations to enhance library services and partnerships. Oversee library technology infrastructure and ensure staff are trained in new technologies and tools. Lead strategic planning processes to ensure the library adapts to the evolving needs of the community.
