Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Three years related experience (journeymen certification preferred)
• General knowledge of estimating time and materials for machine jobs
• General knowledge of metals, their quality, machinability, and uses
• General knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance
• General knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for precision technical plans and drawings

Responsibility:

• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
• Operate precision tools, machinery, and equipment (lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.).
• Fabricate and shape parts out of metal, plastics, and composites.
• Properly and safely select, align, secure, and remove tooling and materials onto machines.
