Job Summary
Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician whose role includes performing mechanical and electrical maintenance on manufacturing equipment along with welding equipment, reading blueprints and electrical schematics, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and performing welding maintenance in the fabrication area.
Job Description
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on manufacturing equipment along with welding equipment
- Read blueprints and electrical schematics; perform preventive and predictive maintenance
- Perform welding maintenance in the fabrication area
- Assist in the installation, remodeling, retrofits, and rehabilitation of equipment and buildings as needed
- Communicate with the various Maintenance departments to maintain a productive and satisfying work environment
- Inspect equipment and notify management of any hazards or defects
- Responds to work orders and ride downtime calls promptly.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain all manners of electrical and mechanical components
- Disassembles and repairs defective electrical and mechanical equipment or systems.
- Performs electrical problem-solving and assists with all aspects of electrical troubleshooting
- Use computer systems to perform diagnostics on electronic components and PLC system
- Uses appropriate tools, such as multi-meter, ampere meter, hand and power tools, etc. Bend the conduit and replace old wiring.
- Uses skills and abilities to identify faulty equipment and identify parts and equipment needed to complete repairs
- Installs/repairs control and distribution mechanisms, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, as well as conduit and wire
- Repairs critical equipment, performs preventive and predictive maintenance and completes projects such as electrical hardware upgrades.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints. Install new production equipment
- Service and maintain equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment
- Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues
- Adjust mechanical parts using hand and machine tools
- Fabricate parts for repairs and machine upgrades
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks
- Communicate with the production team and maintain a clean work area
- Prepare and submit maintenance reports

Skills Required
- Strong fabricator background
- Previous work experience as an industrial maintenance technician
- Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems, PLC proficient
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience with welding maintenance in a fabrication setting
- Experience reading technical drawings, electrical & pneumatic schematics
- 5 years of relevant electrical/maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted on occasion
- Ability to understand detailed electrical and mechanical schematics
- Ability to effectively diagnose machine electrical and mechanical system malfunctions and concisely detail root cause(s) of malfunctions
- Must be able to use analog and digital multimeters
- Willing to work any shift
- Able to express basic electronic principles used in electrical maintenance technician work assignments
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Shift Hours: 4:30 pm – 3:00 am, with flexibility to work OT and weekends
Pay Rate/Salary
- $28.00 - $32.00/hr and more depending on experience. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skill set and/or location
