Sterling Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a mid-sized manufacture in Wood Dale. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to join a diverse team of engineers and make an impact within the organization. Candidates should have a BSME with at minimum some internships.
Responsibilities:
- Design Band heaters based on the customer’s requirements and/or drawings
- Create manufacturing drawings and release orders into production
- Program sheet metal parts and release them into manufacturing
- Resolve production issues and challenges
- Maintain files and drawings of all designs to a company with ISO 9001:2015 requirements
- Provide technical support to customers and sales team
- Assist customers with new projects and calculations
- Evaluation of customer returns as required
- Research raw materials and Maintain drawings and specifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree required with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- 1+ years experience preferred
- 3-D Modeling experience using Solid Works software preferred
- Knowledge of Basic Electrical circuits required
- Knowledge of sheet metal design required
- Working knowledge of sheet metal programming preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices preferred
- Ability to work under pressure in challenging projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving ability and project management skills
- Ability to maintain multiple projects at one time
