Monterey Bay GI Consultants

We are a large Gastroenterology specialty practice with two offices, one in Monterey, CA and the other in Salinas, CA.
We are seeking a friendly person to greet and intake patients at the front desk of our clinic in Salinas, CA, location. However, there may be times when it is necessary to work in Monterey, CA  Applicant will become familiar with the Athena Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in order to perform the following: 

 
Essential job functions: 

• Greets and receives patients, vendor representatives, and other visitors 

• Performs eligibility checks for upcoming patient appointments 

• Prepares chart paperwork for next day 

• Registers and checks in patients 

• Updating demographic and insurance information 

• Collecting financial / insurance information 

• Recording preferred pharmacy / lab locations 

• Recording primary care / referring physicians 

• Collecting co-payments and balance dues 

• Scheduling appointments 

General Qualifications 

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

• High School Diploma or GED 

• Experience with medical insurance preferred 

• Must have strong attention to detail 

• Must be comfortable collecting and handling money (payments) 

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally 

• Work well with patients, physicians, management, and staff 

• Have excellent data entry skills 

• Must have a mature and courteous demeanor 

Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, Day shift of 8 hours 

Salary: $21.00-$26.00 per hour depending on experience
