Location: Rickover Naval Academy High School, Chicago, IL
Start Date: August 6, 2025 | First Day of School: August 18, 2025

What You’ll Do
Deliver the JROTC curriculum in military science, leadership, citizenship, and STEM
Design and execute lesson plans, training schedules, and interactive exercises
Lead core extracurricular and ceremonial activities, such as:
Drill Teams, Academic Competitions, Land Navigation, PT Teams, Archery, Color Guard, Drone Teams
Awards Ceremonies, Annual Military Ball, Competitions
Cadet Leadership Challenge and Summer Camp Programs
Qualifications
Education & Certification
High school diploma or GED (required)
Associate’s degree (must be completed within 5 years of hire)
JROTC Instructor Certification (required)
Military Service
Enlisted rank E-5 or higher (Petty Officer Second Class or above) in USN, USMC, or USCG
Minimum of 8 years of honorable active-duty service , reserve, or retired
Skills & Abilities
Dynamic instructional style—able to motivate diverse learners
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace
Ability to plan large events, manage logistics, and lift training equipment
Team-oriented, detail-focused, and adaptable under pressure
Demonstrated integrity and positive role-model presence
