Job Description

• Communicating : Sending and receiving radio and telephone messages, and communicating with other operators to exchange instructions
• Operating equipment : Installing, operating, and monitoring radio equipment, including sound-recording equipment
• Monitoring : Monitoring emergency frequencies and responding to distress calls
• Maintaining equipment : Cleaning, repairing, and storing equipment, and testing it to ensure it's working properly
• Documenting : Recording radio and phone traffic, and recording signals for analysis
• Dispatching : Dispatching emergency personnel
• Broadcasting : Broadcasting weather reports and traffic conditions
• Interpreting : Interpreting coded messages and emergency signals
• Locating : Using direction-finding equipment to determine the source of signals

Requirements:

• Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
• Radio Operator Certification
• GMDSS General Oper.
• BOSIET / CA-EBS (OPITO)/FOET
• TWIC
• USCG Medical
• Safegulf/Rigpass
