About Us:
Compassionate Addiction Treatment (CAT) is a peer-led, nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting gaps in care for individuals navigating substance use and recovery. Our low-barrier walk-in clinic provides lifesaving medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), including Suboxone and Sublocade, without judgment. In addition to clinical support, we offer wraparound servicessuch as outpatient SUD treatment, housing and employment case management, reentry navigation, and a 20-bed recovery-focused scatter site shelterto promote whole-person healing.

For the past six years, our MOUD program has been sustained through the committed and compassionate efforts of volunteer MDs and ARNPs. We are now transitioning into a new chapter by hiring our first paid prescribing provider who will also serve as Medical Director. This is an exciting opportunity to build on a strong foundation of community care and help expand access to low-barrier treatment in Spokane.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a part-time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to lead and provide care in our walk-in MOUD clinic. This provider will serve as both the primary prescriber and Medical Director, supporting clinical oversight and helping to expand access to care in our community. The ideal candidate is passionate about harm reduction, health equity, and working in collaboration with peers and staff who share lived experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as Medical Director of the MOUD program, providing clinical oversight and support to ensure high-quality, low-barrier care.
• Conduct walk-in assessments and medical evaluations for MOUD eligibility and ongoing care.
• Prescribe and manage Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) and Sublocade (extended-release buprenorphine).
• Collaborate with peers, case managers, and clinical team members to support whole-person care.
• Participate in care coordination efforts, including referral to wraparound services as appropriate.
• Practice in alignment with harm reduction principles, trauma-informed care, and health equity.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Support training and mentorship for emerging clinical staff or volunteers, as needed.
  

Qualifications:

• Current Washington State ARNP license with prescriptive authority.
• DEA waiver for buprenorphine (or eligible to obtain).
• Experience working with people who use drugs, particularly in low-barrier or harm reduction settings.
• Commitment to anti-stigma, non-punitive care practices.
• Ability to work effectively within a peer-driven team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with homeless or justice-involved populations.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally responsive care models.
• Bilingual or lived experience is a plus.
• Prior leadership, supervisory, or Medical Director experience is helpful but not required.
