Urban Grub is seeking an experienced pastry prep cook with a passion for creating outstanding pastry dishes. The ideal candidate should be proficient in baking and pastry techniques, maintain a high standard of quality, and excel in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role involves creating pastry dishes based on the pastry chef's specifications, prepping ingredients, and maintaining a clean, efficient baking station.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare pastry dishes in accordance with the chef's specifications, ensuring consistent quality.
- Prepare all formulas in accordance with the chef's specification, ensuring consistent quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized baking station, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Prep daily mise en place, setting up your station for success.
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation standards to guarantee guest safety.
- Cooperate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of baking experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in the baking/pastry section.
- Proficiency in baking techniques and pastry preparation.
- Understanding of baking methodologies and ability to follow complex recipes.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Food handler's certification, or ability to obtain one.
- Flexibility to work in various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
