Assists pharmacy staff with general duties and provides support to pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. Maintains and replenishes inventory of medications and supplies and is responsible for general cleaning and tidying of the main pharmacy area. Organizes and sends medications (excluding controlled substances) to the patient care units. Answers and triages phone calls of a general nature, and forwards calls to pharmacist or technician when needed. Job duties include organizing and sending medications to patient care units using pneumatic tube delivery system, hand delivering medications as requested, maintaining inventory, returning stock, triaging phone calls, answering general inquiries, applying proper service recovery communications, maintaining patient confidentiality, general tidying and organizing of the pharmacy area, and offering ideas for process efficiency. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer and data entry skills, excellent customer service and communication skills, and attention to detail.
