Min Hourly Rate $14.70 (Standard); $13.70 (Non-Urban); $15.95 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $17.00 (Standard); $16.50 (Non-Urban); $18.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill four (4) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Pharmacy Assistant-Health Services Pharmacy position. The incumbent is an employee of Oregon State University, however the work performed is located off campus in the Benton County Health Services building located at 530 NW 27th St Corvallis, OR. The primary responsibility of this position handling transactions at the cash register, answering phones, and clerical functions. This position directly supports the pharmacists at the Health Services Pharmacy, a partnership with Benton County. Their support helps in providing pharmaceutical care to clients of Benton Health Services. Position Duties 90% - Register: Handle transactions at the cash register including selecting the correct prescription from will-call, make correct change, let the pharmacist know if counseling is required as indicated on the receipt 10% - Miscellaneous: Answers pharmacy phones; package mailers for delivery; housekeeping (vacuum, cleaning, etc.). Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term* *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications The person in this position may be required to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position will handle sharp objects and will have access to controlled substances. This position will require the candidate to work all hours the clinic is open under the supervision of a pharmacist. This may include evenings and weekends. Must be available to work over Summer break. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years. Preferred (Special) Qualifications Fluent in Spanish. Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Working Conditions / Work Schedule Six months of cashiering experience exchanging money for purchases and making change.
