About the Role:

The Physical Therapy Tech plays a crucial role in supporting licensed physical therapists by assisting patients with therapeutic exercises and treatments designed to improve mobility and alleviate pain. This position involves preparing treatment areas, setting up equipment, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients undergoing physical therapy. The Physical Therapy Tech will work closely with patients to guide them through prescribed exercises, monitor their progress, and report any concerns to the supervising therapist. This role requires a compassionate and patient-centered approach to help individuals recover from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions effectively. Ultimately, the Physical Therapy Tech contributes to enhancing patients' quality of life by facilitating their rehabilitation journey in a clinical setting located in Picayune, MS.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of human anatomy and physical therapy principles.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a physical therapy or rehabilitation setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Additional coursework or certification in therapeutic modalities or patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans by guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and modalities.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Monitor patients during therapy sessions, providing encouragement and reporting any adverse reactions or difficulties to the therapist.
  • Document patient progress and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling and maintaining patient records.
  • Educate patients on proper use of assistive devices and techniques to support their recovery outside of therapy sessions.
