Principal Healthcare Data Analyst – NYC

Summary:
This candidate would serve as a Principal Healthcare Data Analyst for NY State of Health. The NY State of Health (NYSOH) marketplace provides affordable, comprehensive health insurance coverage to more than six and a half million New Yorkers. In this position, the analyst will:
Produce business intelligence solutions by querying data repositories and generating periodic reports.
Devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in data sources.
Assess data structures and how they can be used to produce desired reports.
Research new data sources and analytical tools, and recommend solutions.
Conduct or coordinate tests to ensure that business intelligence solutions are consistent with defined needs.
Test, validate, and reformulate models to ensure accurate prediction of outcomes of interest.
Draft new functions or applications in programming languages to conduct analyses.
Create written reports and effectively communicate/present results.
May supervise lower-level staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Affordable Care Act and New York State public health insurance programs.
Education:
8 years of SAS, SQL, Tableau, Python, R or equivalent analytical/programming software experience. Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, & Excel.
Work Schedule:
Employees must follow established work schedules. The usual work schedule is 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Normal work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified by the supervisor, which includes a half-hour unpaid lunch break. Total work hours must equal 37.5 hours per week.

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
