Richmond Beverage Solutions, a DFA Company, is seeking   a quality assurance technician to join our team!!

General Purpose

\n

To perform microbiological and chemical testing of finished products, raw materials and associated items, while adhering to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements. The person in this position would need to maintain all applicable standard operating procedures, while utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, and assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

\n
    \n
  • Assist certified technicians in sample sorting and preparation
  • \n
  • Maintain analytical equipment according to manufacturers’ recommendations and laboratory standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
  • \n
  • Perform all sample sorting and scanning functions, routing all samples to the appropriate location
  • \n
  • In coordination with administrative staff, maintain an adequate inventory of consumable supplies necessary to perform analysis assigned
  • \n
  • Continuously maintain work areas in safe, clean, and sanitary condition
  • \n
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement
  • \n
  • Comply with laboratory hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal plan
  • \n
  • Provide necessary data for routine reports to customers and regulatory agencies as required
  • \n

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • \n
  • 1–2 years related experience required
  • \n

  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
  • \n
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • \n
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • \n
  • Ability to flavor milk-based, sugar-based and caffeine-based products
  • \n
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for virtually the entire shift
  • \n
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally including overhead
  • \n
  • Must be able to effectively work in a team environment
  • \n
  • Must be able to work in a wet environment
  • \n
  • May occasionally be exposed to chemicals
  • \n
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays
  • \n
