WashU is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Staff Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Division of Bone and Mineral Diseases. This role requires the ability to manage a high call volume, coordinate care efficiently, and multitask in a fast-paced environment while ensuring exceptional patient care. In this role you will work closely with physicians, advanced practice partners, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes, offer patient education, symptom management, and care coordination. This position also participates in the assessment and management of metabolic bone disorders, particularly osteoporosis and Paget's disease. Provides direct patient care and education for patients receiving treatments, examinations, etc., in an outpatient, medical office according to established procedures. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care. Provides patient care, which may include administering medication and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice. Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/family regarding disease process and symptom management. Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information. Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Assists the health care provider with examinations, referrals, prescription refills and other processes related to direct patient care. Supports physicians by responding to patient requests via phone or MyChart. Maintains required skills and competencies and participates in educational programs, staff meetings and in services such as CPR as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Normal office environment, exposure to blood-borne pathogens, requires protective devices, patient care setting, direct patient care setting. Physical Effort: Typically sitting at desk or table, repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement, occasional lifting (25 lbs. or less). Equipment: Office equipment, clinical/diagnostic equipment. Required Qualifications: Associate degree - Nursing. Certifications: Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Registered Nurse - Missouri Division of Professional Registration. Work Experience: No specific work experience is required for this position. Preferred Qualifications: B.S.N. - Bachelor of Science in Nursing, P.N - Diploma in Practical Nursing. Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Licensed Practical Nurse - Missouri Division of Professional Registration. Work Experience: Related Medical (1 Year).
