Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in Marlinton, WV is seeking a skilled Counselor for a contracted school year position. This role is ideal for a professional dedicated to supporting student mental health and academic success throughout the school year.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students across K-12 levels
• Address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns impacting student performance
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention plans
• Implement strategies to promote positive student development and well-being
• Maintain accurate documentation and ply with confidentiality standards
• Participate in school-based meetings and professional development opportunities as needed

Qualifications:

• Valid counseling certification or licensure appropriate for school settings
• Experience working with K-12 students in educational environments
• Strong munication, assessment, and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and school staff
• Knowledge of relevant counseling theories, techniques, and legal regulations
