Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our team. As a Loan Officer, you will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, and recommending loan applications while providing exceptional service to clients. Your goal is to guide applicants through the loan process, ensuring they secure financing that aligns with their needs while adhering to company and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Interaction & Sales:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, realtors, and referral partners.
- Educate clients on loan options, interest rates, and financial terms.
- Assist clients in completing loan applications and gathering necessary documentation.
- Proactively follow up with clients to ensure a smooth loan process.
Loan Origination & Processing:
- Evaluate applicants' financial information, including credit, income, and debt-to-income ratios.
- Recommend suitable loan products based on clients’ financial needs and eligibility.
- Submit loan applications for approval and communicate status updates to clients.
- Work closely with underwriters, processors, and closing teams to ensure timely loan approvals.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all loans meet company guidelines and comply with state and federal lending regulations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, lending regulations, and market conditions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in mortgage lending, banking, or financial services (preferred but not required).
- Strong knowledge of loan products, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients simultaneously.
- Proficiency in loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System) registration.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field (preferred).
- 1+ Previous experience in mortgage sales.
