What You'll Be Responsible For As a Blockchain Research Software Engineer, you will focus on prototyping and developing smart contracts, implementing on-chain primitives with an emphasis on stablecoins and their role in the digital economy. Your work will include pioneering blockchain research, contributing to open-source projects, and driving innovation in decentralized financial infrastructure. What You'll Work On Designing and prototyping smart contracts for stablecoins and DeFi use cases. Researching blockchain protocols, consensus mechanisms, and their implications for stablecoins. Collaborating with academic institutions, blockchain foundations, and industry partners. Analyzing on-chain data and transaction patterns to optimize protocols. Publishing research findings and presenting at industry conferences. Staying updated on blockchain, cryptography, and distributed systems advancements, sharing knowledge across teams. Developing security standards and audits for smart contracts to ensure robustness and security. Core Requirements Proven experience in blockchain smart contract development, especially with Ethereum and related tools. Strong programming skills in Python, Julia, and Solidity. Experience with AI tools for programming and vibe coding. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; advanced degrees preferred. Research experience demonstrated through publications, projects, or grants. Interest and experience in stablecoin design, implementation, or regulation. Strong organizational and communication skills for presenting complex ideas. Preferred Requirements Contributions to AI and machine learning projects related to blockchain or DeFi. Experience at Web3-native firms. Familiarity with Slack, MacOS, and GSuite. Knowledge of generative AI models and prompt crafting.
