Job Description
We're hiring a Senior Solar Systems Design Engineer to lead the design of solar + energy storage systems for commercial and industrial (C&I) projects. You'll work on high-impact, technical projects using the latest technology like Tesla Megapacks and advanced inverters.

Compensation : up to $140k.
Location : Irvine, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visit project sites to assess solar + storage feasibility
- Collect and analyze site data (electrical, structural, etc.)
- Lead system designs: layouts, one-line diagrams, conduit schedules, interconnection packages
- Use tools like PVSyst, Helioscope, HOMER, and SAM to model performance
- Ensure designs follow all codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE, etc.)
- Work closely with project managers, utilities, permitting agencies, and construction teams
- Support permitting, interconnection, and commissioning
- Help set and improve CAD standards and design workflows
- Continuously improve our design processes and templates
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years designing solar PV and storage systems
- Skilled in AutoCAD, PVSyst, and one-line diagram creation
- Experience with DC/AC-coupled systems and storage tech (Tesla, Fluence, etc.)
- Knowledge of NEC 690/705/706, UL 1741-SA, IEEE 1547
- Experience with utility interconnection (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- EIT or NABCEP certification is a plus
- 1+ year of leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
