Job Description

Structural/Civil Engineer with P.E. license and design and/or construction background to conduct forensic investigations of commercial, institutional, high-rise and residential buildings. This is a hybrid position that can work remotely, from the office, or a combination of both.

Typical engineering assignments include determining the cause of structural failures, construction defects, water/moisture intrusion, roof damages, structural collapses, foundation/settlement, and more.

Additional projects include storm damage assessments, post-fire damage and structural integrity evaluations, and providing professional opinions and expert witness testimony.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the cause and origin of structural failures and construction defects.
  • Conduct field inspections to document onsite conditions.
  • Conduct roof damage evaluations for residential and commercial structures.
  • Conduct moisture/water intrusion damage evaluations.
  • Prepare and provide oral and written reports, timely.
  • 50/50 field work and office duties.

Qualifications

  • BSCE from an accredited school, required
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • P.E. license in state applying to (ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT), required
  • Having additional P.E. licenses in additional state's, preferred
  • NCEES, preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, required.
  • Strong understanding of building materials, residential and commercial construction, and building codes
