3pm - 11:30pm/ Full Time/ 36 Hours

Salary range - $16.10-$24.96

We're seeking a Unit Clerk for Emory University Hospital responsible for being a capable certified technician who cares about the quality of their work and ensuring the safety for all patients.

This individual will:

  • Answer unit/department telephones and greet visitors according to departmental procedure; screen calls and take messages or refer caller/visitor to appropriate staff member.
  • Receive and transcribe physicians' orders according to established guidelines.
  • Record, update, and maintain information in patient records in accordance with department protocol and federal, state and organizational guidelines.
  • Route records to appropriate department or staff and maintain confidentiality of information. Operate standard office equipment including telephones, copiers, fax machines, and computers. Inventory, order, and maintain office supplies and forms; complete purchase requisitions and receive supplies.
  • Respond to patient requests via patient intercom system.
  • Arrange for medical tests, supplies, equipment treatment and special dietary needs as ordered by a physician.
  • Enter and retrieve data related to patient charges and supply orders to include daily reconciliation of patient charges to ensure accurate patient billing process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • One year previous clerical experience and experience with various personal computer software applications.
