• Supporting Higher Education/University's Office of Marketing
• 100% remote
• Pay rate: $50/hour W2

General Summary

The Web and Graphic Designer will develop consumer-facing web and collateral materials that support the department’s goals to build a compelling brand and motivate prospective students to enroll at the University. Designers are responsible for selecting on-brand images for the website/blog, designing web pages, landing pages, brochures, event materials, flyers, Canva templates, social media messages, print/digital advertising and other projects. Under the direction of the Senior Web and Graphic Designer, the designer will work collaboratively with Creative Strategy, the Content team, Creative Operations, and others in Marketing Services and the web team to ensure effective deliverables.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with assigned designers/writers/editors to ensure that design and content align
• Develop designs and solutions that are visually appealing, based on best practices, reinforce the brand value proposition and drive results

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, preferably with a concentration in Graphic/Digital Design or related field. Coursework in marketing, business administration, English, or communications a plus.

Type of Experience

• 2 to 4+ years professional experience in both digital design and print
• Expert knowledge of Adobe CC, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Experience with photo archive systems and metadata application a plus (Media Valet, Adobe Bridge)
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager a plus
• Experience with motion graphics and animated GIFs a plus
• Experience with social media a plus
• Experience with advertising a plus

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities

• Outstanding digital and print portfolio readily available for review
• Strong type and layout skills across a variety of platforms
• Understanding of interactive best practices, usability, mobile and responsive design
